The USDA states “Bacteria are tiny, one-celled organisms, generally 4/100,000 of an inch wide (1µm) and somewhat longer in length. What bacteria lack in size, they make up in numbers. A teaspoon of productive soil generally contains between 100 million and 1 billion bacteria.
In these new times where a large portion of the population is wanting to get back to “sustainable” and “organic” farming -not only for the health benefits, but as well as the cost effectiveness- the use of microbes has seen quite the large increase. People are wanting to get away from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and have a healthier, more organic option for their fruits and vegetables that weren’t grown with pesticides and chemicals. Not only do people want organic options for themselves, but for their animals as well.
